• Question: are lasers dangerous?

      They can be, they can even be used to to cut steel! It depends on the type of laser, the wavelength(colour) and the power of the laser. But because they can be dangerous we have to be really careful and take loads of precautions when we use lasers.

      In my lab the lasers are all enclosed in shielding and we also wear special laser goggles just incase there is an accident .

      yes, they can be. But the lasers I use are in special housing which means that our eyes are protected and the laser won’t fire until all the safety features are in place which means we can’t fire it at anyone.
