• Question: Did your parents support you becoming a scientist?

      Yes they did, they did not really know what it involved but they were supportive and said they thought it was a good thing for me to do

      Yes, they were really supportive because they thought it was a better choice than archaeology. I don’t think they realised that I was still going to continue doing the archaeology lol.

      Indeed – from a parental point of view it is a good career for your child to go into and if it interests them then it should be encouraged. seems to have paid off in the end……..

      My parents never had specific aspirations for me, I was encouraged to do my best. Any choices from that point were mine to make.

      Yes, My parents supported me. But they would have supported me to follow any path as long as it made me happy.

      The main thing they did to support me was to show me how interesting science can be, and no matter how many times I asked the question why they always gave me a proper answer and helped me think about the question. (I must have been an annoying kid I asked why all the time!)
