We would probably have much better understanding got how things fly for a start 🙂 if we flew around the world ourselves instead of using planes we might be more concerned with climate change and pollution as we would experience it up there! although overall we might do less science if we were too busy flying 🙂

That would all depend on whether we bat-like wings or bird-like wings.

If we had bird-like wings, we wouldn’t be able to hold anything or really be able to do experiments, so I think in that case we wouldn’t have the scientific advances we have today. We would have to rely on using our mouth and feet to do all our daily tasks.

If we had bat-like wings, we would have hands at the end of them and could do the stuff we do now, but I really think the wings might get in the way in the lab.

And how would you wear a lab coat? The wings would get in the way of your clothes and things. So, I think if we had wings we wouldn’t really do much science. But we would probably have less pollution as we wouldn’t need cars and planes and things.

Well we’d need to be designed quite differently if we were to fly. Birds etc (the flying ones, not ostriches or Emus) have evolved with a lightweight skeletal structure, and are generally lightweight to make flying easier. So we’d need to be differently designed in order to fly. How would it affect our scientific views, well that also would depend, as Charlotte points out we’d probably have a better understanding of flight, and I guess we’d fly more rather than zoom around in cars. May lead to a healtier population too. I’d imagine we’d have to eat lots to compensate for the extra energy we would require…..

      Hi @ednicci

Global warming wouldn’t be affected by any transportation emissions.
      Oh, wouldn’t it be great!!,!
