• Question: were you friends and family very enthustiastic in you becoming a scientist ?

      My friends and family were really supportive. And my brother and best friend were really enthusiastic when they heard about the sorts of experiments that I was able to work on, such as stabbing leather and making glass and things.

      I wouldn’t say really enthusiastic, they just accpeted that it suited me and didn’t question it, I think they admired the idea though 🙂

    My family were supportive, as were my friends, some of whom also went on to do Science and Engineering at University. It does help having parents who encourage you to achieve your maximum potential.
