That’s a really interesting question. Being a sci-fi fan, I always like the idea of a mad scientist, but not sure who was really weird. Oh, there was that chap who electrocuted frogs legs to make them twitch again…I’ll google his name…Luigi Galvani (the first to study bioelectricity in 1771 with that experiment apparently). Oh brilliant! The internet tells me he also had a nephew, Giovanni Aldini, who tried the same experiment but on human corpses…that is definitely weird lol.
I think Henry Cavendish was weird but brilliant, he was the first person to calculate the strength of the Earth’s gravity and did lots of chemistry research too, but was super shy- he made his housekeeper use another door so he didn’t see anyone during the day and would only communicate by notes with women… like Raj from the Big Bang theory 🙂
Well I’d say Isaac Newton – a brilliant scientist who contributed to many fields such as mathematics, optics, mechanics and gravitation. Some oof the things he is less well known for include that he showed a keen interest in alchemy (turning common metals into gold amongst other things) . He aalso wrote a lot about the bible but did not believe in Satan, and he also worked for the royal mint looking into ways to combat counterfieters. Oh and he was also a member of Parliament – very weird!
