• Question: what causes a head ache?

      There are lots of different causes of head aches. Some are caused by the muscles in your head, neck and shoulders being too tense or if you grind your teeth too much; others are because the blood vessels in your head constrict and relax and this makes you feel like your head is throbbing. You can also have a reaction to the chemicals in certain products, for example, some perfumes really give me a headache. Oh and don’t forget that ‘brain freeze’ feeling you sometimes get if eat ice-cream…this is because your body reacts to the cold substance moving across the roof of your mouth and down your throat.
