• Question: What do you call a female daddy long legs?

      I don’t know if there is a separate name for the males and females. The daddy long legs is actually called a Crane Fly (I think again because of its really long legs). And depending on where you are in the world will depend on what the regional name is (so for us it’s daddy long legs). But the daddy part doesn’t refer only to the males as far as I know (in the same way ladybirds are both male and female).

      its still a daddy long legs, or a crane fly. no one seems to really know how they became daddy long legs but the name dates back hundreds of years!
