• Question: What do you think is the best scientific experiment?

      I would have to say Rutherford’s gold foil experiment that gave us the structure of the atom, it was a simple design but completely disproved what people used to think atoms were like, at first people didn’t accept it but it was such a good experiment they had to in the end

      ooh, that’s a really tough question… I always like the ones you can try yourself because I learn best by having a go. So it might not be the best experiment but it’s one I like doing… you take a white flower and split the stem and then put each part of the stem in a different glass of water and then add different food colourings and then 12 hours or so later your flower has changed colour 🙂

      I’d guess Michael Faraday’s experiments with electricity and magnetism. Without electricity a lot of our work would be considerably more difficult!

      One of the cleverest is the way you can put two antibiotic discs next to each other on an agar plate and see how they interact with bacteria.
