      Well lasers themselves are not necessarily hot, but they can heat up an object to incredibly high temperatures if the laser power is high enough. In the US they have an experiment to try to generate the type of nuclear reactor that is similar to the way the sun works. They have hundreds of the biggest and most powerful set of lasers in the world that are all focused onto a tiny spot just 2 millimeters in size. They focus onto a tiny pellet of fuel and heat it to around 10 million degrees. So pretty hot!
