      trying new experiments no one has down before and being the first to make a new chemical 🙂 and knowing my work will help people one day even if it is a small impact

      You get to do so many new, strange, interesting and different things. People ask you questions that you never really considered before and this leads to you developing new research ideas. Then you can test new stuff. Or you get given an object that is really valuable and it is terrifying analysing it because you are paranoid about breaking it. The adrenalin rush of doing experiments and looking at the results and interpreting the data can be really addictive too.
