• Question: who inspired you to be a scientist

      I think it was probably my teachers, they always made science interesting and made sure we got to do lots of experiments too

      My tutors at uni. I went for an interview to see if I would be able to do a science Masters course without any science A-levels or anything. And they told me that if I had the determination to work, they had the confidence that they could teach me…I never looked back! Their trust, confidence and faith in me really inspired me to work extra hard and become a scientist.

      Probably all those science programmes I saw on TV when I was younger – even caught some open university ones which were way above my head but interesting. Always remember seeing one showing how potassium reacts in the presence of Fluorine……..
