Basically, some people are extremely sensitive to certain things. These things can be completely harmless to most people but in some cases your body thinks it is a really bad thing and reacts to it. The causes of allergies are really varied, in some cases it is hereditary, which means your parents, grandparents or siblings may also have it. In other cases, it is environmental and sudden change of environment may bring a reaction. For example, some people who grow up in the city can get really bad hayfever when they visit the countryside. Or if your mum suddenly changes her type of washing powder, this may cause a reaction. But in most cases the symptoms are easily treatable and sometimes as your body adjusts to the new surroundings, the symptoms can improve.

But if you think you have an allergy, you should always get it checked by your Dr.
